An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is required by law when you sell your property. The seller is responsible to ensure that they have ordered a EPC at the same time they put their home on the market and be in possession of the EPC within 28 days of marketing the property. Trading standards are responsible for ensuring that home sellers do not break the law and can issue fines up to £200 for non compliance. It is important to instruct your EPC either before or at the time of putting your home on the market. We offer our EPC's at only £75.00 inc VAT - which also includes a free floor planOrdering your EPC with limeliving is easy and straight forward. What is an Engery Performace Certificate? An Energy Performance Certificate tells you how energy efficient your home is on a scale of A-G. The most efficient homes will have a rating at the upper end of that scale and will therefore be more energy efficient. How is an EPC calculated? In order to obtain your EPC it will be necessary to arrange an assessment of the property with a fully trained Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA). During this assessment the DEA will conduct a full survey of the property, recording specific details which are then input into unique software used to calculate the energy rating. Included in your Energy Performance Certificate is a recommendation report which suggests ways in which you can improve on your home's energy efficiency to save you money and help the environment. There is no legal requirement to make the improvements, but the recommendations are designed to highlight the cost benefit and payback periods in addition to reducing your home's impact on the environment.
